Meet Kristen Ham

Why is women’s financial education important to you?

Did you know that according to the latest “Investment Trends” Data, Female SMSF trustees outperform male SMSF trustees by 3.5%pa due to relying on trusted and known investments?  Both genders, with their unique perspectives and skill sets, are equally important in a healthily balanced and economically successful society.   Women in our contemporary era are fortunately taking a much more active financial role in society and are finding that they do the job very well.

At the same time women face their own unique set of obstacles with prospective time off work to have children, traditionally lower super balances and longer life expectancies. With knowledge comes opportunity and I am interested in helping those with the desire to uncover those financially rewarding opportunities that are available to them in order to maximise their future wealth.

Describe what you do for clients. Why and when does someone engage you?

I look after clients throughout all stages of life offering services including:

  • General financial positioning/ planning – getting clients on the road to greater wealth via superannuation/ investments / tax effective financial structuring.
  • Cashflow management and budgeting
  • Comprehensive personal insurance
  • Retirement planning
  • Business succession planning
  • Centrelink support services
  • Aged care

People generally engage with me around significant life events such as getting married, having children, planning for retirement and/or via referral from existing client base.

If you had to use five words to describe your most successful clients, what would they be?

Inquisitive, Secure, Generous, Self-driven, Confident

What is the best financial words of wisdom you’ve been given and who were they from?

“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”  Warren Buffet.

What can clients expect at their first meeting/consultation with you?

Our approach is to offer an initial consultation which is cost and obligation free. This involves a general, relaxed and pressure free discussion that uncovers the client’s family and financial position, goals, concerns, motivations and capacities.  We are a competitively priced fee for service business where any subsequent costs are a function of the nature of a specific client engagement, are transparent and explicitly agreed up front before any advice is formulated.

How do women contact you to organise an initial catch up?

Call me on 0419 419 216 or email me directly on kristen.ham@altitudews.com.au to organise a time which suits you for an initial appointment.
